War of the Words.

Gary Lineker said;
‘There is no huge influx. We take far fewer refugees than other major European countries. This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s.’

Lineker berated Braverman over her immigration policy and all of a sudden we were plunged into a war of the worlds. Removing one letter and all ‘L’ was let loose. That war of words saw the right wing frothing at the mouth. The earholes of oversensitive conservatives heard something rather different. Apparently Mr. Lineker. said our Home Secretary is a Nazi bitch who should be buried alive in a barrel of writhing eels.
You and I know he did not say that, although he should have, after all if the cap fits then bloodiwell wear it.
Braverman is the daughter of Indian parents who emigrated to Britain in the 1960s from Mauritius and Kenya. She is a member of the Triratna Buddhist Community, is married to a Jewish feller and “will not be hectored by out of touch lefties” with “accusations of bigotry” over her small boats policy.

Super Sue is a living contradiction. As a Buddhist she should have more compassion, as the wife of a Jew she should have more empathy, as a politician she should be representing our Nation with generosity and wisdom. Suella, however, sees those ruddy boat people as an invading group of marauders. Unwanted maritime travellers as unwelcome as a Palestinian at Netanyahu’s Friday Night dinner.

Our little isolationist Island is now terrified of everything from Europeans, swarms of foreigners to human rights and any kind of oppositional debate. The wedge that this government is driving between the lowly and the bumptious high borns is growing before our very eyes. The gap between those that can survive the cost of living crisis and those that bean count at the food banks is obscene. This Tory regime of unmitigated selfishness is beginning to take its toll. Like tired dogs we think nothing of rolling over as they tickle our tummy’s with their talons. Why anybody should believe their ruthless rhetoric is a measure of the matted wool they have pulled over our blepharitic eyes.

The world is changing and it takes a strong will and healthy calf muscles to keep up.
‘Don’t use the phrases ‘pig out’, ‘eating like a horse’ or ‘wolfing down your dinner’ because it makes obese people feel like ANIMALS;’ so sayeth dietitians.
Don’t say migrants are human beings because it will make people confused.
Being sensitive to our developing world is a minefield of unknowns.
As we change so our language evolves. What do we call a woman with a penis or a man with a rack? What do we call a baby born of black and white parents? What is woke? What is obsolete?
The struggle, back in the 70’s, when women became wimmin and spokesmen became spokespersons, was fierce. Fighting for an authentic identity starts with words.
No more shouting ‘Yids’ from the terraces, no more derogatory racial slurs, no more Colonial put downs. Over my life time language has moved on just as it should do.

So when the likes of spiteful Sue identify vulnerable asylum seekers as criminals, when the poor are identified as scroungers, the old identified as a burden. When Eatonians think nothing of lying and Prince’s think nothing of bribery, then what are we downtrodden underlings meant to think.

Who do we aspire to now?
Who are our heroes and heroines?

Gary Lineker was a footballer done good, but God forbid he grew a brain what then? Is it possible that oiks from the slums can actually think? As our society polarises how do we remind ourselves that all of us have a stake in everything. Stingy Sue has revealed the philosophical tawdriness of our governing body. One rule of them and one rule for us. Were Suella’s lot to have arrived on a boat form Kenya, were her family to have arrived with nothing but their beating hearts, were her family to have landed on a stony beach with nothing but a glimmer of hope, then would they have welcomed Suzi’s sickening policies. How would she have felt if she were turned back, robbed of dignity, turned around and sent packing to an unwelcoming host country.

The BBC has always been proud of its impartiality but now it is buckling under the weight of hypocrisy, ageism and Tory cynicism. Everybody has an opinion, but now opinion is cliched and crass. When opinion is born out of the underdog those superannuated twats don’t like it. Shut up the Linekers and the Packhams. Silence the Lynch’s and demonise the Corbyns. Muzzle the dissenters. Even Mr. Christ himself would have been gagged by the likes of this decrepit band of brigands. Use your words carefully Sue, choose your words properly because you are finally being rumbled. People are literally sick and tired of a country that is shrinking in both status and magnanimity. When the rich get richer and the poor get fucked somethings going to give.

The old git and I attended Maidstone hospital this morning. We paid for parking and waited quietly as a limited staff treated him with extraordinary respect. Stuck a pipe down his throat and sliced off three bits of information for a biopsy. I drunk a coffee as a group of young healers worked on my old man. We all hugged each other after the procedure and tears were shed. All of them were underpaid foreigners, migrants, interlopers from other continents. All of them would have been shipped back to where they came from if Slippery Sue had her way. Enough with the tightarsery it is time for a new paradigm. I give you Patti Digh

‘Being generous often consists of simply extending a hand. That’s hard to do if you are grasping tightly to your righteousness, your belief system, your superiority, your assumptions about others, your definition of normal.”

Are you listening Suella, Rishi, Cleverly, Rabb, Kemi and Jeremy – the whole mangy lot of you – are listening?
