The Girl in the Orange tatty – who?

Is it possible that I climbed out of bed at 5.45?
Is it possible that I put on the shorts and vest – which I thought was red but apparently is not cos the teacher kept yelling
‘Will the girl in the orange top turn her feet backwards?’ Girl I ask you….
Is it possible that I put on the coat, took the towel out of the utility room, grabbed a bottle of clean, cold water and got into the care at 6.07?

Is it at all possible that it took me from 6.06 till 6.18 to get to Balham, park the car and show my little card at reception?
Is it possible that after a few minutes of clocking the rest of the yawning class I became a YOGI BARE?
Yes. It Is. After three days I have become an early riser.
This mornings teacher was a hairless Japanese-Californian boy with tight speedos and the posture of a camel. Go Figure? As he would say. He spoke into the microphone talking ceaselessly until we were all dripping over our own towels.
Got back by 8.25 just as the old git was leaving for work.
He kissed me in the shower, which I think is pretty ok after 35 years of married blitz, only a soapy kiss which he complained about mind you
I called the Doctor who was lovely, and put my mind at rest about my mother and memory and age and memory, did I say that already.
And now I have to meditate before I set about being a writer.
So YES IT IS POSSIBLE that the girl in the orange tatty who? got up and strutted her stuff.
I still find it hard standing on one leg and I have ABSOLUTELY NO STOMACH MUSCLES WHATSOEVER?
Glenn Flavin please tell me I will get a 2-4-6-8 pack by the time I’m 65?
Have a good day you all and don’t forget to breathe…..Oh God! Don’t you hate converts?

  1. Hi Jeni,
wow…respect! I’ve never made it to a class earlier than 9:30 am…it must have felt like the middle of the night!
Not sure if a 6-pack is the goal here…but you will sure feel and see the benefits, particularly around the waistline (triangle is great for this) and feel inches taller (which in your case can only be a good thing!).;-)
I love all the back bends – it seems we spend our lives hunched over forward – its so good to stretch in the other direction.
My favourite pose is the standing bow, but like you it took me a while to get my balance – I still fall out of it regularly. No matter get back into it and LOCK the supporting leg!!
    Namaste!

  2. Nobody teaches you how to behave when your parents become sick. A friend of mine told me years ago that one day I’d become the ‘parent’ and my parents were now, not the children, but the ones who wouldn’t make decisions, or who passed all responsibility to me for any tasks, however small. 6 years ago I realised that had happened. I didn’t mind at all. After all they gave a lot to me! But theres no real preparation for the shift in perspective it brings.
I hope your mother stays well, Jen.

  3. Hi Jeni.
You seem to have bounced back to your old self. Fantastic!! Glad that you like bikram. It’s amazing isn’t it? It’s like you have been taken away into another world for 90 mins and you feel like skipping up the road afterwards. Marvelous!! I love it.
Once again good luck for Sunday.
I will be listening in the morning and in the car on my way to the airport for work. Flying to Seattle, so whatever I miss I will podcast. Lots of love. Nick xx

  10. Loved your first show this morning on London Radio. In bed with a cup of tea and the Sunday Papers and listening to you.
Let’s hope you get a regular daily slot. Forget Barry … your skills are best used within our airwaves.
